This exceptional route takes you to two lakes. The first is Lac de Castillon, which you can admire as you drive along it or take one or more breaks on the long winding road ahead. But believe us, it’s worth the detour. You’ll spot the second, Lac de Chaudanne, when you arrive at Croix de Mission, so you’re halfway there! The view of the two lakes is yours!
Starting from Entrevaux, this pass is quick to reach, a distance of 7.45 km. A pleasant climb, with regular gradients (5 to 6%) except for the first kilometer, which is between 8 and 9%. The shady road offers a breathtaking view of the Entrevaux citadel.
For altitude lovers! The Col d’Allos, linking the Verdon and Ubaye valleys, rises to 2250 m and regularly hosts the Tour de France. Located in the heart of the Mercantour National Park, the Col de la Cayolle, at 2326 m altitude, offers breathtaking scenery. The winding road to the Col des Champs, 2087 m, is the perfect end to this loop.
This route allows you to enjoy the coolness of the coniferous trees in summer. This route, which is seldom used by vehicles, is ideal for beginners thanks to its gentle gradient.
Take advantage of this peaceful setting to recharge your batteries in the heart of nature.
