The Société communale de chasse de La Palud sur Verdon is an association under the law of July 1, 1901.
It is registered with the prefecture under n°0043001193 and under the name “SOCIETE DES CHASSEURS DE LA PALUD”, with its head office at the town hall 04420 La Palud sur Verdon.
The first articles of association were registered on May 27, 1927 (see attached document); the latest date is October 1, 2003, a decision taken at the Annual General Meeting held on September 6, 2003.
Its aim, within the framework of current laws and regulations, is to promote :
– the organization of hunting
– the hunting education of its members
– the suppression of poaching
– the destruction of animal species considered harmful to game.
– the creation of hunting reserves
– to join and collaborate with the Fédération Départementale de Chasse and, in general, to take all measures likely to ensure better technical organization of hunting.
3 types of big game are present on our territory:
– wild boar, mainly hunted in battues (49 wild boar taken in 2013-2014)
– roe deer, hunted by driven game or stalking and subject to a hunting plan (around 30 bracelets)
– chamois, hunted by stalking only, subject to a hunting plan (approx. 30 bracelets).
The small game hunted is mainly hare, partridge, thrush, wood pigeon, blackbird and woodcock.
Game farming is carried out in autumn, with the sowing of tretical wheat or sainfoin: 15 plots on average covering around 3 ha. Clearing is also practiced.
Pest control boxes are loaned to private individuals.
5 drinking troughs in the Barbin and Aire massifs are maintained and supplied with water in summer.
The membership fee is €110 (for the 2014-2015 season).
