Observe and discover the Verdon Griffon Vulture colony on a supervised outing.
History, biology, habitat, reproduction and interactions with man are all fascinating topics that will help you get to know one of the emblematic wild species of the Gorges du Verdon.
Emblematic and well established in the gorges, the Verdon vultures deserve to be better known. At Raoul Rafting, our passion for wildlife has led us to create outings dedicated to the observation of these great birds of prey.
Gliders, gregarious, natural knackers par excellence, equipped with ultra-developed eyesight and an anatomy that leaves nothing to chance, these birds have everything to arouse our curiosity. To the delight of our eyes, observing them is a gateway to getting to know them.
Their history, their biology, their long reproductive period, their interactions with man and their way of life in groups are all fascinating subjects to discover. And what better way to do this than by their side, at strategic observation points, using specially adapted observation equipment?
Taking the time to observe Vultures often means encountering other species of cliff-nesting birds: Common Raven, Peregrine Falcon, Golden Eagle, Red-billed Chough or White-bellied Swift, sedentary or only present in summer, these birds are just as fascinating.
