Organized since 2016 by the troisixmedia team, the Grand Rallye VTT – TransVerdon offers you an itinerant mountain bike adventure over 5 stages, in the spirit of the splendid official Grande Traversée route. The Grand Rallye VTT is 5 days of pure mountain biking on a selection of the finest trails in theUpper and Middle Verdon, created by our duo Greg Noce / Fabrice Crouzet, in close partnership with the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region!
Each stage is a great day’s mountain biking(AE) of 35km and 1300m of D+ on average. A daily mountain bike trip in “All Mountain Rally” format, interspersed with 3 to 4 daily “special stages“, with timed sections of varying degrees of undulation and descent, offering real interest in terms of pleasure and sightseeing.
At the start of each timed special stage, participants set off individually, with no set starting order. Those wishing to set off in a group can do so.
Since its inception, the Grand Rallye VTT – TransVerdon has been all about fun, sharing, encounters and discovery. The notion of competition is secondary for many participants.
With this in mind, and for those who might be frightened by the notion of “competition”, the Organization is introducing a “no time” option from 2020 , optional and free of charge to be ticked off when registering online, to ride “with a free mind” and not appear in the rankings. The program and routes remain identical in every respect.
For participants equipped with a timing chip, a daily ranking is established at the end of each stage, based on the total number of timed stages. The Ladies and Scratch leaders receive a daily ceremonial award.
At the end of the 5 stages, the Organization will award prizes to the top 3 riders in each category: Scratch (15+), Ladies (15+), Juniors (15-18), Masters 40, Masters 50 and VTTAE (mixed, 15+).
